Where's Wendy?

Where's Wendy?

On Sunday I went to the Belfast Curling Club, the only place you can curl in the state of Maine. I got to try the sport earlier this year and today I watched my friends play. Its a fun sport that is also quite a workout. The ice is pitted and not as slippery as a regular ice rink. The club has special days where you can sign up a team and be taught how to curl.

UMaine Holding Pep Rally for Football Team

The University of Maine is holding a pep rally for the Black Bear football team at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the Maine Marketplace area of the Memorial Union. The UMaine football team is headed to Statesboro, Ga., for a Dec. 10 game against with third-ranked Georgia Southern in the NCAA national quarterfinals.

The UMaine marching band will perform in the atrium outside the UMaine Bookstore. Speakers are expected to include football coach Jack Cosgrove and team member Roosevelt Boone. UMaine Foundation Officer and School of Performing Arts faculty member Danny Williams will serve as the master of ceremonies.

The Black Bears have a 9-3 record following a 34-12 NCAA second-round victory over Appalachian State on Dec. 3. UMaine is the only Colonial Athletic Association team still alive in the NCAA tournament.
