Do You Use Coupons?

Last night I was explaining to one of my friends how to start couponing. Everyone wants to save money and it seems like more and more people are cutting costs by using coupons. I wouldn't put myself in the class of an extreme couponer like what you see on TLC's Extreme Couponing show, but I do like to save money. What I told my friend and I would tell anyone is the best thing to do is match up coupons with sales. It does take patience and planning, but you can find some pretty great bargains out there. The first place to start is to buy a copy of the Sunday paper. A website to check out to see what will be in the Sunday paper is Sunday Coupon Preview. I tend to buy two copies of the paper just in case I may need multiple copies of the same coupon. The next step is to search the web for printable coupons. The Internet has become a valuable resource in finding coupons for products you buy. Often times I felt like the coupons in the Sunday paper were not beneficial to me because it was things I didn't buy normally, but I was able to find more online through various websites. I check certain websites daily to see what deals are available. Stores will include information on their websites about their  coupon policies like Target, Walmart, Hannaford, Shaws (not on their website but found info here), Walgreens and Rite Aid. Shaws doubles coupons 99cents or less which is great to match up with sales. Target has its own coupons that are available on their website which you can stack with manufacturer coupons that you clip or print online. You can even like a company on Facebook and they will offer coupons to their fans. Some of the websites I checked daily are as follows: MoneySaving Maine-iac (based in Maine she highlights local deals at Hannaford and Shaws), I Love To Gossip (Chrystie Corns from Extreme Couponing that lives in Portland, ME), Money Saving Mom, and The Krazy Coupon Lady. Each website details great deals currently available and will often include where to locate the coupon(s) they used. Something important to remember is don't drive yourself crazy trying to get every good deal. There are always sales going on. Have fun saving. :)
