Beal College to Host Open House this November

Event will mark the celebration of the College’s 120th anniversary

BANGOR – Beal College will host an open house on Friday, November 4 in celebration of its 120th anniversary.

“The goal of our open house is to educate prospective students and members of the community about our career training programs and our unique MOD system,” said Erin Leighton, Director of Admissions.  “We want people to see that while we’ve been around for a long time, we’ve also been able to keep current.  Yes, we started out as a secretarial school, but Beal has transformed into a cutting edge training facility for the in-demand careers of today.”

Application fees will be waived for anyone interested in applying for admission at the event.  “Our application fee is currently $30.00 and we know money is tight for many people right now—every little bit helps,” said Leighton.  “We understand the economic struggles that people face today.   It’s the reason we did not raise tuition this year.”

Campus tours will be available and will showcase parts of the College, such as the Fitness Center and Beal Café, which were added last year.  A college access fair will take place and will allow attendees to learn about the career training programs at Beal from faculty members.  It will also allow attendees to speak with members of the community about ways to reduce barriers to college access.  A complimentary breakfast and free luncheon will also be served.

Anyone interested in attending Beal College’s Open House may register online at or by phone at 1-800-660-7351 (ask for Admissions).

Registration deadline is October 14.

This year’s Open House will be the first time the College has held such an event since 2005, just after moving to its current location on 99 Farm Road in Bangor.
