Parent night Vine Street School in Bangor

Maine Children's author Lynn Plourde will be working with all K-3 children inspiring them in the writing and reading process.  Lynn has published 27 books and will be using some of them in her work.

She will be with us on Tuesday, March 13th and will be working with children from 10:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. & then from 1:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Then, Tuesday evening (March 13th), Lynn will host a parent night from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. here at Vine Street School.  She will be demonstrating through her works of children's books, inspiring reading strategies that parents can use at home with their children.

Our purpose of having her work with our students is the following goals:

We want to connect children with the process of writing stories and seeing the finished product.

We will reinforce that everyone has a story to tell and can write their own story.

Our effort also connects to the Read Across America focus this month and shows how the writing and reading process is connected.
