Dozens brave cold waters for Polar Plunge to benefit kids camps
News

DEDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Many people had the courage to freeze for a reason on Saturday in Dedham.

The annual Polar Plunge was held at Camp CaPella in the afternoon. More than 40 people jumped into the cold waters of Phillips Lake to raise money for the camp as well as Camp Sunshine.

This year two of NEWS CENTER's own decided to take the plunge. Rerporter Mike DeSumma and producer Emily Hodgdon both worked for weeks to raise pledges for their leaps in the lake.

Camp CaPella is a summer camp for kids and adults living with physical and developmental disabilties. Camp Sunshine is open year round in Casco for kids who have life-threatening illnesses.
