Police identify suspect, officer involved in fatal Bangor shooting | News
UPDATE: Bangor Police Chief Mark Hathaway released additional details about Monday's officer-involved shooting.
Hathaway said the investigation confirmed Joshua Jozefowicz was in possession of a loaded firearm and that during the foot chase, he discharged the weapon.
Hathaway said autopsy on Jozefowicz was completed and that the examination indicated he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Officials said the Attorney General's Office continues to investigate the case.
BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Bangor Police Department have identified the man killed in Tuesday night's officer-involved shooting that happened at 1105 Hammond Street in Bangor.
Police say 23-year-old Joshua Jozefowicz, of Hancock County was the suspect killed in Tuesday's shooting.
The Bangor Police Officer involved in the shooting is Officer Ryan Jones, police report. Officer Jones is a six year veteran of the police department.
Officer Jones is currently on paid administrative leave.
