Bangor man arrested after stabbing on Hammond Street

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Bangor man is currently in custody after police say he stabbed a man several times Thursday morning.

Bangor police say 22-year-old Moffatt Bennett stabbed a man in his 50's several times at a residence on Hammond St.

The victim was taken by Bangor Fire to the Eastern Maine Medical Center and was treated and later released from the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

Bennett has been charged with aggravated assault and was taken to the Penobscot County Jail. Police say the victim in this case is a family member of Bennett.

Police say this case is still under investigation and no further information will be released until after the expected arraignment on Monday, November 30.
