OLD TOWN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A man faces several drug charges after a police officer found almost $4000 in cash and a jar of marijuana in the vehicle.

Captain Lee Miller of the Old Town Police Department said 24-year-old Joshua Churchill was charged with aggravated traffic schedule drugs (Class B), unlawful possession of a scheduled drug (Class C), sale and use of drug paraphernalia (Civil), possession of a usable amount of marijuana (Civil), and criminal simulation.

Miller said Churchill was pulled over for a traffic violation when the officer found the marijuana in the back seat. The officer also uncovered $3870 in cash, drug paraphernalia, cocaine, oxycodone and a 9mm handgun during a more thorough search.

The serial number on the gun had a substance on it to attempt to conceal the serial number, said Miller.
