Bangor bar collecting cans for Manna | News
BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Summer time is a tough time for food pantries, because kids are out of school and families need more help putting food on the table, but during the summer months, business at Carolina Sports Bar and Grill picks up. That's why the waterfront watering hole is asking its patrons to bring in canned goods and non-perishable items. Owner Mark Greenleaf says he wants to collect 3000 cans for Manna's food cupboard.
"So we decided to jump on board and help out, a lot of people come through here, if I can get them to bring a can every time they come we can get 3,000 cans in no time," said Greenleaf.
Anyone can stop in and drop off cans during regular business hours. You can also deliver items directly to Manna at 629 Main Street in Bangor.
