Events, Schools

BANGOR, ME -- Students at Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) will host an event on campus in rememberance of the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. The planned events include a 1pm screening in Kineo Hall of the film 9/11 – the Filmmakers’ Commemorative Edition, as well as a Candelight Rememberance walk on the EMCC walking track.

When asked about the upcoming plans Alissa Downing, Director of Residential Life, Activities & Student Engagement at EMCC stated  “There is no one in the country that was immune to what happened on September 11th,  It is important to remember the victims, as well as the heroes that emerged from that day.  The day’s events are symbolic and provide a venue in which to celebrate life and patriotism on our campus.”

Eastern Maine Community College welcomes the community onto the campus for Sunday’s scheduled events however the screening in Kineo hall may be limited to students dependent on space. For More Information on the day’s activites  please contact CarolAnne Dube at cadube@emcc.edu or (207) 974.4817.
