17th Annual Gene and Lucille Letourneau Ice Fishing Derby

Winter is now in full swing and the ice is thick enough to get out there and find the best fishing hole to catch “the big one” and win great prizes at the 17th Annual Gene and Lucille Letourneau Ice Fishing Derby on February 22nd at Spectrum Generations Muskie Center in Waterville.

The event benefits Spectrum Generations Meals on Wheels and other programs to keep seniors and adults with disabilities safe, healthy, and independent in their homes in memory of avid sportsman and environmentalist Gene Letourneau and his wife Lucille Letourneau.

Gene was a longtime volunteer and advocate of the Meals on Wheels program.  Spectrum Generations has been delivering meals throughout central Maine for more than 40 years, and the need for these nutritious meals to homebound and disabled adults is increasing.

The weigh-in will be inside the warm Spectrum Generations Muskie Community Center from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, February 22, 2015 with a live auction to immediately follow the weigh-in.  Food and beverages will be available for sale in the Café and children’s activities will be offered throughout the day. The Muskie Community Center is located at 38 Gold Street in Waterville.

Tickets to enter are $3 each, two for $5, or five for $10.  Each ticket purchased entitles you to enter one fish in the competition, plus enters you to win the Grand Prize of a Cabela’s Ice Shack.  You can get your tickets by visiting the Muskie Center at 38 Gold Street in Waterville, by calling 873-4745 to purchase by phone or asking for other ticket locations, or online at www.spectrumgenerations.org/derby
