The Bangor Region Leadership Institute, in affiliation with the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, will hold their annual BRLI Laugh-In 2011 on Saturday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Jeff's Catering in Brewer. 

The evening, emceed by Deb Neuman and Mike Dow, is filled with food and fun.  Comedian Bill Russ will start the evening followed by comedian Keith Alberstadt.  Alberstadt grew up the son of a Vanderbilt professor and a craft artist. The result... a very clever comic with sharp perception, unmatched creativity, and a treasure trove of unique material.

Dysart's Spaghetti Supper to Benefit the Pine Tree Camp

On January 30, 2011 a Spaghetti dinner will be held at Dysart's Restaurant, located at 530 Coldbrook Road, Hermon, Maine.  Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and dessert will be served, all for $10.  Money will benefit the Pine Tree Camp, a summer camp for kids and adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Comedy Night at Morgan Hill

Popular comedian Mark Scalia performs at Morgan Hill Event Center on Saturday February 26th at 8pm. Mark Scalia has been on such TV Shows as Comcast Comedy Spotlight, Comedy Central & MTV. Currently, Mark is on tour working in Comedy Clubs and theatres all across the United States! Also in the show is Steve Guilmette, a popular comic from Boston, and Maine Native Ryan Gartley.

February 3rd at 1:30pm, take a trip around the solar system to meet the animated planets of our Solar System as they discuss what makes them so unique in “Our Sky Family,” for ages 5-9. Second Annual National Pie Day Celebration at Senior Center

DOWNTOWN BANGOR – The public is invited to celebrate National Pie Day with an “Enjoy a Slice” Pie Brunch, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Friday, January 21, at the Hammond Street Senior Center, Downtown Bangor.
Pie aficionados can relish the good ol’ days with a big slice of pie “just like grandma used to make” and a cup of coffee or tea for $2.00. Add a scoop of fresh homemade old fashion ice cream for just a $1 more.
In honor of National Pie Day, which is officially Sunday, January 23, members of the Senior Center are baking up a menu of pies that includes sweet potato, triple berry, apple, blueberry, pecan, pumpkin and even a couple sugar-free diabetic-friendly selections.
