Angels School Store Gearing Up----In Need of Donations

Angels School Store Gearing Up----In Need of Donations

The Charlotte White Center Angels Program is a community based outreach program that seeks to improve the well being of children and adults in our community through projects designed to develop spirit, pride, and personal responsibility.  Every year we sponsor a School Store.  The Store opens for one week each year for children to come in and shop, filling their “back to school needs”.  Although most of our shoppers acutely need this help to be ready for the school year, we choose to emphasize life skills and personal responsibility, rather then need.  Children are given a special “checkbook”, in which they can make deposits through doing good deeds throughout the month prior to the store opening.  When a child visits the school store, they then receive Charlotte White Center cash for the good deeds that they have done.  The child then gets to do their back to school shopping.

Charlotte White Center Art Program

Art in Piscataquis County!

The Charlotte White Center hosts an art program for individuals being served by the agency.  Through weekly professional art instruction and access to several mediums, individuals develop their own style and skill at their own pace.  Every week, amazing works of art are created from the humblest of beginnings.  The more noticable result...proud artists!  You can see the sparkle in her eye, the hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth and hear the outburst of joy when words of praise and relfections of beauty are expressed to the artist.  A sharing of joy for the artist and the viewer!

"Giggey Girl Gowns" is Open for Business!

"Giggey Girl Gowns" is Open for Business!

My name is Kassidy Giggey and I am a Brewer High School student and the founder of a brand new DonateMyDress.org branch called “Giggey Girl Gowns”. We run a dress donation program through my church, The Community of Christ Church in Brewer, Maine. I have never had to experience such a hard circumstance. Someone in my family has always been there to provide for me, even when it comes to dresses. Recently while looking for prom dresses, I found that the dress I wanted was going to be around $280.00. Luckily, I have a job and will be able to afford the dress.
