Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit Families And Children Together

Volunteers from Families And Children Together (F.A.C.T.) will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, April 29th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Herbert Sargent Community Center in Old Town.  Dinner is only $6 per person,
$4 for children under 12, or $20 for a family of 5. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

All proceeds from this event support F.A.C.T.’s Pay It Forward Fund.  This fund assists grandfamilies in crisis.  It has bought fuel for families to stay warm during the winter, kept the electricity on, paid for a babysitter when the grandparent is sick, and much more.  When families receive funds they agree to pay it forward by helping someone else in need.  Families might offer babysitting to another family, provide transportation to an elderly neighbor, or maybe knit hat and mittens for children.  The possibilities are endless.

F.A.C.T. provides services to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives who are raising through its Maine Kids-Kin program.  This unique and innovative program provides information and referrals on legal, financial and family challenges.  They also provide respite and emergency funds; a
resource library; clothing exchange; support groups; and family activities.
Currently, there are over 11,000 Maine children who live with their relatives.
