Downtown Bangor Artwalk!

The Downtown Bangor Arts Collaborative will host the final Artwalk of 2010 on Friday, November 19 from 5-9 p.m.

At last count there are more than 30 locations and more than 50 artists registered for this free, open-studio tour. In addition to artwork and fine craft, downtown restaurants are still signing on to offer food and drink specials featuring "The Art of Food."

Maps will be available at downtown businesses starting the first week of November.

The Acadia Hospital Promotes Staff Members to Key Positions

The Acadia Hospital is pleased to announce the promotion of three of its employees. Naomi Brown, PMH-NP has become the Director of Magnet and Research, Dan Johnson, PhD has become the Director of Education, and Jeanne Wypyski, LCSW, CCS has been chosen as the Administrator for Adult Inpatient Services.

Brown will bring her passion for nursing and Acadia Hospital to her position, and will work very closely with nursing leaders and with the new Director of Education to maintain Acadia's level of clinical and service excellence. She began her psychiatric nursing career at Acadia in 1994, working in various programs including inpatient, Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program and Ambulatory Services. Most recently Brown served as an administrator.

Bangor, ME – In response to the decision of Bangor Psychiatric Services to no longer see MaineCare clients, the Acadia Hospital has announced it stands ready to accommodate some of the approximately 2,500 affected individuals.

Volunteers Wanted in Maine for Oct. 23, Make a Difference Day

McDonald's Breakfast Makes a Difference program will provide volunteers with breakfast and coffee from McDonald's, snacks from Newman's Own® Organics, and t-shirts.

Maine McDonald's® and Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Maine are putting out a call for volunteers for the 20th annual Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 23. In support of this national day of volunteerism, McDonald's in Maine is looking for individuals and groups willing to donate their time at several non-profit organizations across Maine.
