Fireside Inn & Suites are now offering each guest a Wicked Whoopie at check-in

"The Fireside Inn & Suites brand of hotels is a proud Maine-based business so it seems only fitting that we celebrate our Maine roots with the state's favorite treat at check-in," said Peter Daigle, chief operating officer for Lafayette Hotels, the parent company of the hotel group. "Our hotels are proud to support Isamax Snacks and their wonderful Wicked Whoopies."

Guests of the Fireside Inn will receive a Wicked Whoopie at Check-In.
The Fireside Inn brand of hotels has teamed up with Gardiner-based Isamax Snacks, makers of Wicked Whoopies, to bring this fresh chocolate treat to their guests. Wicked Whoopies makes over 10,000 whoopie pies each day, and has been featured on Oprah, Good Morning America, and QVC. "We'll be giving these whoopie pies to guests who check into our Fireside Inn & Suites Hotels in Maine and New Hampshire. They will also be available for purchase at all our Fireside Inns front desks."

Maine State Representative Paul Davis of Sangerville has sponsored LD71 - An act to designate the whoopie pie as the state dessert. Fireside Inn picked the whoopie pie as its guest treat before the legislation was introduced. "We're not sure whether the whoopie pie should be the state dessert or the state treat," says Peter Daigle, "but we support anything that promotes the "Maine" brand."
