Maine Discovery Museum eBay Auction

Maine Discovery Museum will have an eBay auction of two wooden shelves autographed by popular performing artists Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, George Thorogood and Melissa Etheridge and bestselling author Stephen King.  Each item will be listed for 10 days and all proceeds will benefit the children’s museum.

This annual dinner auction is the biggest fundraiser of the year and the 2011 theme is ‘Top Shelf’.

First up for auction on eBay is The Waterfront Concerts shelf, autographed by four of the headline acts from the 2011 Bangor Waterfront Concerts - Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, George Thorogood, and Melissa Etheridge.  The shelf also includes a CD by each of the artists:  #1’s by Reba, Bullets in the Gun by Toby Keith, 30 Years of Rock Greatest Hits by George Thorogood & The Destroyers, and Fearless Love by Melissa Etheridge.  This item is available for bidding on eBay starting today with bidding set to close on Sunday, October 30th.

The second shelf is autographed by Bangor’s own bestselling author Stephen King.  This item will be available on eBay starting on Halloween – Monday, October 31st – with bidding set to close on Thursday, November 10th.  For a direct link to eBay to view and bid on these items, please visit mainediscoverymuseum.org.

“We’re very excited to have the autographed shelves on eBay and hope to get some local and national interest on these items,” said Susan Carlisle, Auction Committee Chair.  “It’s all for a great cause to support Maine Discovery Museum, and if you don’t end up with one of the eBay items (or even if you do!), join us for our annual dinner auction on November 19th to bid on the gorgeous pieces our Maine artists have created.”

The autographed shelves being auctioned on eBay, as well as the hand-painted shelves for the annual dinner and live auction on November 19th, can be previewed at Maine Discovery Museum, 74 Main Street, Bangor, during regular museum hours and online at www.mainediscoverymuseum.org.
