Jordan Planetarium's New April SkyLaze Series

Just in time for school vacation, UMaine’s Jordan Planetarium is rolling out another series of laser shows with the AVI SkyLase system April 14-22.

The musical scores feature awide variety of rock performers and their most popular songs all illustrated with dancing patterns and animations of laser light under the darkened planetarium dome. Music lovers can enjoy popular rock favorites and star legend tales, on the planetarium’s acoustically tuned audio system including Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Beatles and more.

It all takes place in Wingate Hall on the Orono campus and tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door, with limited seating of 30 visitors per showing. Admission is $4, and private showings can be arranged for families, groups and clubs.

General admission showings are scheduled daily throughout the school vacation break:

Saturday, April 14, "Laser Star Stories," 11 a.m., "Metallica," 1 p.m., "Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon," 7 p.m.; Sunday, April 15, "Laser Star Stories," 3:30 p.m.; Monday, April 16, "Fright Light, 7 p.m., "Led Zeppelin," 8 p.m.; Tuesday, April 17, "Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon," 7 p.m., "Pink Floyd: The Wall," 8 p.m.; Wednesday, April 18, "Pink Floyd: The Wall," 7 p.m., "U2," 8 p.m.; Thursday, April 19, "Beatles," 7 p.m., "Led Zeppelin," 8 p.m.; Friday, April 20, "Laser Spirit," 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 21, "Laser Star Stories," 11 a.m., "Beatles," 1 p.m., "VIDEO Dark Side of the Moon," 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 22, "Laser Beatles," 3:30 p.m.
