Holland trial enters Day 2
News

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- The trial of a Biddeford man accused of murdering two brothers in June of 2009 entered its second day on Tuesday.

Fifty-six year old Rory Holland is charged in the shooting deaths of 19-year old Gage Greene and his 21-year-old brother Derek Greene. A friend of the brothers, Andrew Lee, was on the stand Tuesday morning and testified that he saw Holland shoot Gage Greene in the chest outside of his South Street home on the early morning of June 30, 2009. Lee also testified that Holland fired the gun after Greene pushed him.

Authorities then say Holland shot Derek Greene three times as he was running across the street towards the scene.

The defense counters that Lee and other friends of the Greenes who witnessed the shooting that night were highly intoxicated. They also have pointed out a number of statements that several witnesses have made in their testimonies, which differ from the statements they made to police the night of the shootings.

The trial is expected to continue on Wednesday.
