Denbow sentenced to 10 years for sex crimes

DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Donald Denbow will serve 10 years in prison and 18 years probation for his crimes.

In November of last year, the 68-year old resident of Shirley in Piscataquis County pleaded no contest to 13 counts of gross sexual assault and one count of sexual abuse of a minor. Police say Denbow had sex with two young girls several hundred times at his barber shop in Dover-Foxcroft between 2004 and 2008.

Denbow was arrested in October 2009 after police say he showed up for what he thought was going to be a meeting with a young girl to have sex.

Defense Attorney Richard Hartley asked the judge to suspend some of Denbow's sentence because of his contributions to society and health concerns.

Big Ol' Fish "caught" at 73rd annual Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show

Hopefully, you caught the 73rd annual Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show this past weekend at UMaine in Orono.  More than 100 vendors and organizations displayed their wares and services for everything outdoors-- hunting, fishing, boating and more.

And once again this year, WLBZ 2 set up the Big Ol' Fish booth and hooked young and old alike to have their photo taken with a Big Ol' Fish.  The pictures are proof and you can see them all in the photo gallery at WLBZ2.com.

While the supplies lasted, each of the young anglers received a wicked sharp Branch Pond Marine/WLBZ 2 bobber.  Check out those photos!
