BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The mother of Perley Goodrich Jr., became emotional as she testified about the day when she says her son pistol whipped her and shot and killed her husband.
Sandra Goodrich spoke about the tension in their home in Newport between her son, Perley Jr., and herself.
She said he was "out of control and angry" and that she was scared and even tried to get him help at a hospital.
After Perley Jr., came home from the hospital on Oct. 26, 2009, Sandra said he tried to tie her up with duct tape, saying, "If you'll be quiet, I'll let you live."
She said they struggled as he beat her with a handgun.
When Perley Sr., came to the door of his bedroom, Perley Jr., let her go and went toward his father with the gun.
