OLD TOWN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The old town city manager has resigned. Peggy Daigle formally announced that she is stepping down at a special city council meeting Thursday evening.
She was put on administrative leave Wednesday.
The council accepted her resignation in a six to one vote.
Daigle noted in her letter of resignation that the council had decided to move in a different direction. She also said that she enjoyed her time working for the city and hopes Old Town continues to grow.
Daigle had this to say as she left the meeting.
"My statement stands, I just really don't want to talk about it," said Daigle. "I'm still in negotiations on my termination agreement and that's my top priority right now."
Daigle had been the city manager in Old Town since 2004.
