BANGOR, Maine(NEWS CENTER) -- The Bangor Police Department is warning residents of picking up empty bottles that contain white or brown 'sludge' inside.
Police posted on Facebook that someone alerted them to bottles accompanied with a Sudafed box on a foot path in the town. Police said the woman had recently been educated about the spike in small batch cooking of meth and knew when she saw these bottles coupled with the empty box of Sudafed, that it could be exactly what had been happening.
The residue left in these bottles could be poisonous and should not be touched by children or adults, police report. The residue can be brown and white and appears like a sludge inside the bottles. However, police say if you see a bottle with any color sludge, don't pick it up.
